  Lovely flowers for Valentine's day but unfortunately they were delivered a day late! Whilst working offshore I ordered a bunch of flowers for my girlfriend back home. 'Yes sir, we can do that, of course sir leave it with us.' Valentine's day arrives and by lunch time I still haven't received the WhatsApp I've been expecting; full of joy and thanks for a beautiful bouquet. 4pm not a peep, nor a rose or a lilly. I phone the florist, I understand they're busy, its probably the busiest day of the year for a florist in our small provincial town. I'm assured they will be delivered today. I ask my girlfriend who is now full of the cold and just wants to go home to bed just to stay at the office a little while longer and I'm sure these bloody flowers will cheer her up. 5pm comes and she has had enough and I cant blame her. 10am the next day the flowers turn up! Deep joy! But what sort of scoundrel boyfriend orders flowers a day late?! Me apparently. The office is filled not with eyes green with envy but with smirks and sneers, 'the cheek of that offshore rogue!' What adds insult to injury is that my girlfriend's office is only 100 meters from the florist and I placed the order two weeks in advance! Needless to say I'm still in the dog house a week later.
